Our Kitten Crew

Annie
Annie is the 4th Tortie that we have had in the lounge - look at her startling unique split face! This 2-year-old sweetheart was rescued from the same 130 cat colony that George and Lila hailed from, where their human died in the house. She's a bit shy at the get-go, but with enough sweet talking and scritches she is ready for hugs, head bumps and butt rubs. She quickly retreats to the safety of her hidey hole when the attention ceases BUT she is all about repeat lovins if you pick up where you left off. If you would like a challenge and have time to give out some scritches, Annie will surely be up for that! Come by and give her a scritch or two

April
Aprilis a 1-year-old gray mackerel tabby with gorgeous stripes! She's a little shy at first BUT once you talk sweetly to her and give stroke her head, you’ve got her undivided attention! April was rescued as a tiny kitten from an animal hoarder BUT has seen nothing but love and attention with her foster, who reports that she is super sweet and affectionate little lady who inspires to be a lap cat-in-training when she learns to trust you. Ii you are patient and give her time, April will be game for all-night chats and snuggles.

Candycorn and Kettlecorn
What’s better than 1 tortie? 2 of them! Kettlecorn is the darker of the two, while Candycorn has more orange in her soft fur, with a fun orange blaze down her so kissable nose. These 2 girls were born to a feral mama in a backyard. Rumor has it they were so wild and hissy and ”poppy” that they were named after popcorn! They are two beautiful peas in a pod - and have beautiful personalities to match!

Miles
Miles is a 1.5-year-old handsome brown tabby with gorgeous stripes! He's a little shy at first BUT once you talk sweetly to him and give him butt scratches, he turns on the purrs and kneads like a champion! Miles was rescued with his siblings when they were 4 weeks old. GET THIS - he had been up for adoption since September 2021! It's hard to believe that no one wanted to adopt this boy as a kitten! He's a furry lap cat once he gets to know you, very mellow yet playful and loves to chill in Alex's cat tree in the Cat Room. Miles is waiting patiently for someone to love him - could that someone be you?

June Bug
June Bug is a lovely shy wisp of a girl. She is a soft Calico (not super bright oranges and blacks in her coat) without being considered a pastel. She requires some space and scritches but with coaxing will succumb to pets and give you a polite hello before descending back into her safe hidey hole. This 2 ½ year old sweetheart needs quiet and space but with time she says she knows that she will sneak into your soul and surround you with purrs and kisses.

Indy
Indy is our first Cat Ambassador! He teaches our incoming foster cats how to be well-behaved café cats. Indy was found living inside a gopher hole outside of an old barn on Independence Day weekend. He has some interesting habits – he enjoys self-nursing (complete with biscuit making!) and shakes his tail like a rattlesnake when he gets excited, causing him to chomp on it and scream out 🙂 This sweet year-old boy can usually be found hanging out with young kids and napping, his favorite pastime.

Parker
Although a bit hermit-like at the moment, LOVES affection. This stout 2-year-old gray tabby is such a lover once he gets warmed up - he'll be your shadow and chase your hands around so that you can pet his sweet soft head. Parker was rescued while doing TNR at the same homeless camp Emma and Darcy came from - he was living with a homeless woman who was caring for 34+ stray cats! Because he was so friendly, the rescue took him in to find him his forever home. He gets on well with other cats and although he has not been around kids, he will most likely do well since he has such a loving and kind personality. NO DOGS. Show this silver charmer some love!

Love Bug
Love Bug is….really a love bug! Would you like a Calico who acts more like a dog than a cat? Love Bug is for you! She will follow you around, demand rear end scratches and give head bonks on command. The jury’s out on if she can or will fetch. Love Bug is about 2,5 years old and is just happy to be held and hugged by her person. NO DOGS please - she is not fond of them. She, like a few of her cat lounge mates, was rescued from a cat colony of over 130 cats where her person died in the house. Will you provide her with the stable and safe home she deserves?

Grayson
"Handsome" is not a proper adjective to describe this 3-year-old looker. He could be considered a gray tuxedo and holds his head up like he used to be in commercials! Don't ask me why he reminds me of Pierce Brosnan - maybe it's the way he has the ability to get me to confess all of my secrets ("yes, I didn't give you all of the treats like I said I did...and the rest is in the container on top of the bookcase"). Maybe it's how he sharply focuses on me with his one good eye (L eye not so good) but I swear he has zeroed into my heart - maybe he will do the same to yours! He showed up at a feral colony in a neighborhood in which he didn't belong and kept coming back to eat and mingle with the other cats like he owned the place, just like Pierce Brosnan owning the screen. I promise this is the last time I mention Pierce Brosnan 😆The feeder contacted the rescue but no one claimed him. Will YOU claim him as yours?

Cassie
Cassie is our newest almost 1-year-old beautiful Agouti/spotted brown tabby – do you remember Lizzie from back in January? She has very similar ticking pattern except she does not have a reddish hue to her coat. This sweet little lady was an accidental TNR capture at the Sutter Cemetery – the rescue was trapping a 60+ strong cat colony out there when BOING! They caught a cat but no one of the ones they were hoping to trap! She was so overly friendly that the rescue kept her to find her a home. She is loving, laid-back and her goal in life is to follow her human and request head rubs.

Dr. Baker
Dr. Baker is a spicy little 10 month old brown tabby who may just have a Doctorate in baking the most delicious biscuits we have ever sampled. He and Patty were born in a junkyard but his rough start in life has not stopped him from stealing hearts and making guests smile. He can be found napping on the cat wall or chilling out under one of the bookcases. He also has a fondness for knocking some of the other cats around if things are slow, so he might be best in a home with a couple or single male human 😻

River
Riveris a ginger anomaly - at once curious and over-the-top friendly yet tears off like a demon is chasing him and boings into his donut like a pin ball being released, all atwitched and seemingly trembling. He is a stunning almost 2 year old cream colored or buff tabby with the silkiest hair you'd think he uses a hot oil treatment (Vidal Sassoon??). River was rescued as a kitten at a homeless camp by the river. When the camps caught on fire, he ran to survive and ended up living with some homeless folks who had dogs that didn't like cats. He was so friendly that our rescue partner took him to find him a home and prior to coming to us, has been living happily inside with his foster buddies. River is perfect for you if you have other cats, want a buddy to hang with while you binge on the latest Netflix show or prefer an inside furriend who will act like a lab when you come home from the office, doing figure 8's in and out of your legs and flopping down on your feet showing his glorious tummy for pets.

Princess Leia
Princess Leia is a lover, not a fighter - the Rebel Alliance brings her out when they need to attend to important matters at a Peace Concord and NOT start either a war of words or hand-to-hand combat. This sweet almost 3-year-old dilute Tortie has an incredibly peaceful presence and sits, curiously contemplates, and weathers the situation like a seasoned leader. Leia has an air of love and graciousness about her and very clearly just wants to give love and get love. She was rescued from a homeless camp along with 40 other cats, where she had appeared to be protecting them. She was so friendly on approach that the rescue took her to find her a home. Will YOU take her in and be her hero like she helped the other cats? You are HER only hope

Bubba
Bubbalooks like he could be Loofah’s brother-from-another-mother! He says he’s not quite ready to be Mr. Social like loofah BUT with time he’ll get there. Although he has been quiet and hidey since his arrival, the handsome 2-year-old marble tabby craves human attention and will hoist his big boy body onto your lap and demand pets for days. Bubba hails from a colony of 130 cats where the owner has found deceased inside the house. Will you give Bubba’s sad beginning a happy ending?
Adoption Process
First you will make a reservation to meet our adoptable kitties. Adoption fees vary, according to the age of the kitten or cat.
All kitties over 4 months also have had their rabies vaccinations. All kittens have been spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, received their flea and de-wormer treatments, and basic booster shots.
Your new kitten adoption also includes a beautiful gift basket, a bag of our premium branded cat litter and a starter bag of kitten food. When you visit, let our staff know you are actively looking to adopt.
When you fall in love with a kitty, one of our Au Purrs will connect you to one of our rescue partners. Adoption approvals are typically finalized on-site, which means you may take home your new family member the same day.
*Please note that we don’t complete adoptions after the last session hour. Pick-ups may be arranged for the following day.
Kitten Adoption FAQs
We can only hope that our adoption rates will be very high (since we are not in business yet!) so a lot of times a kitty you see online has the potential to already have been adopted. Please note, we do not “hold” kittens. If you are interested in a kitten, but cannot bring them home within a week, we cannot guarantee that kitten will be available when you are ready. Because there are always kittens that need to be pulled from needy rescues and shelters, we like to make room for new kittens as soon as we can.
We do a deep clean of our cat lounge 3 times a week and monitor the kitties every day for potential illness. Just like with people though, sometimes the kitties are asymptomatic (not showing signs of illness) while they are with us and end up getting adopted and going home. Our rescue partners can help you if this happens. Please reach out to us and we will get you in touch with them!
Here are the details on how to make that happen at The Great Catsby Cat Café and Lounge. And yes! 100% of the adoption fees go to our rescue partners.
First you will make a booking via the website to meet our adoptable kitties.

Oh yes, and we would love it if you did! We have matchmakers right here in the café who will help you find the right kitten for you or your family and will walk you through the process. We record all our adoptions and post them – our goal is to find great homes for all our furry friends so that we can foster more. Keep checking back to see the impact that you, our loyal guests, are making!
No worries––our café is open to all. If you simply love cats but are unable to bring one home, we welcome you just the same. Until our kitties find their new homes, they need all the love and affection they can get (and they have a lot to give, too!). Please feel free to come by, grab some coffee, and snuggle up with a furry friend. And if you know someone who’s been searching for a kitty friend, give ‘em a nudge to visit! You can also consider supporting us in other ways, such as by donating to a local cat rescue.
Yes. All cats are examined by our rescue partners before arrival, which includes being spayed/neutered, microchipped, receiving updated vaccinations, and testing for FeLV & other viruses/illnesses. If you have any questions, please contact us or chat with a café team member during your visit.
Super clean. We follow cleaning procedures similar to hospitals and veterinary clinics and are cleaning and lint rollering very often. Our cats are well-screened by our rescue partners to ensure they are healthy and we take VERY good care of them here. We also run medical-grade air purifiers in each main room and clean and sanitize every hour. With any animal facility, there is a small risk of zoonotic illnesses but we work extremely hard to make sure everyone stays healthy and sanitary. We have many extra precautions to prevent human illness too.
The kittens at The Great Catsby are provided by our various cat rescue partners. The Great Catsby plans to have an initial out-reach to over 5 counties (Butte, Glenn, Tehama, Yuba and Shasta) throughout Northern California. Many of our kitties will be transferred in to our rescue partners from rural shelters that do not have the resources to support felines.
There will be approximately 12 kittens in our cat lounge at any given time, all available for adoption.
